Puppet Show Pictures

March, 24, 2010. An afternoon of great puppet shows! My students are so creative! We discussed important issues through puppet shows: cooperation, empathy, and responsibility. The children had fun watching the shows. One girl told me, "I felt in love with all the puppet shows!"

Kite Connects

Kite project connects subjects such as Art, History, Science, Math, even Dance and Music. My creative pre-service class room teachers use Kite as a vechicle to address important and interesting knowledge. Students strive to make their own kite to reflect upon the key concepts in their lesson plan design. For example: A kite shapes like a heart, meaning, "love to read". It is decorated with pictures of many must-read books for elementary students. Jeff and Alida used oriental design to highlight the historical and cultural aspect of the kite making. Jody and Joel's box kite highlights the uses of kites as spying tool during World War I. Elizabeth and Angela made a giant target kite to show how kites were used as gunnery target pratices in the military. Paul and Kyle made a beautiful red kite using frabric. Stephanie, Jorden, and Leah went all the way made two kites: a traditional diamond shaped kite with a picture of a lovely butterfly and a Tetrahedral kite to discuss the law of flying.
